I read this book in late '06 and loved it. In it, Bruce Haring discussed things to consider if one is thinking of plunging into the world of professional musicianship. With dozens of entertaining anecdotes, he clearly demonstrated real problems that up and coming musicians face. The chapters were short and intuitively ordered for the busy reader. Common new band mistakes were detailed in how they usually played out with ways to avoid them, as well as an analysis of what kind of motivation and drive it takes one who is serious about a career in music to succeed. The tips and advice made me feel like I was personally given inside information by someone who had been there and done that (and lived to tell). --Madeline
